24 students head to China for further studies

Twenty-four students from Politeknik Brunei (PB) left for Lanzhou Petrochemical University of Vocational Technology (LPUVT) in China, as part of the collaborative programme with Hengyi Industries Sdn Bhd to further their studies. The joint collaborative programme, established in 2021, provides students with an opportunity to acquire practical skills and knowledge for a career in the petrochemical industry.

The students have completed two years of study at PB and will be undergoing one semester at LPUVT.

They will conclude their final semester with Hengyi Industries at Pulau Muara Besar, where they will receive industrial-based learning.

The programme also provides the students with conditional offers of employment, where upon completion of studies, they will be offered the opportunity to work full-time at Hengyi Industries.

Student Nur Farah Bathrisya binti Mahdini said, “As an engineering student and the youngest in my family, I consider studying abroad a life-transformative experience where I can immerse myself in a new cultural setting, discover new abilities and conquer new challenges. For all these, I want to show my greatest gratitude to PB and Hengyi Industries for sponsoring and supporting me in this journey.”

Meanwhile, Pengiran Muhd Abdul Malik bin Pengiran Ibnoh said, “The cooperation between LPUVT and Hengyi Industries has uncovered the road for me to discover and explore the world of the petrochemical industry and enhance my skills. I am very grateful for this opportunity. I seek to learn and enhance my knowledge with LPUVT and wish to contribute to Brunei’s economy together with Hengyi Industries for a better future.”
